    3. Yes, white birch. It is also known as canoe birch, and as I call it, paper birch (Paper Birch; Betula papyrifera).

      The weather is ambivalent with an annoying tendency toward wintry: snow, freezing rain, rain, a peek of sunshine now and then. Perhaps typical for the time, but not springlike in my estimation.
