Natural Arrangement

Hummingbird Moth; Hemaris thysbe
The flowers are Wild-flag Iris; Iris setosa, the ferns are Sensitive Fern; Onoclea sensibilis.

  1. What is the little creature approaching the Iris - some kind of moth? It appears to have a long curled tongue like a butterfly.

    1. The ferns are amazing. Once it gets warm, the fen goes from bare ground to lush jungle in two or three weeks.
